To start with, API is the acronym for Application Programming Interface. Which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. Each time you use an app like Facebook, send an instant message, or check weather on your phone, you're using an API.
Facebook API is a bundle of solutions used as a primary way to get data in and out of the platform. It enables developers and app users to access the functionality of this network: user information, photos and videos, messages and more.
API are the tools that allow businesses to put data to use, by inspiring innovative developers to create new business opportunities and improve existing products, systems, and operations. An enterprise should develop an API strategy consisting of both public and private APIs.
Public API: made publicly available to software developers.
Private API: has its applications hosted with in-house developers
POSTMAN: s an API platform for building and using API's. Postman simplifies each step of API lifecycle and streamlines collaboration so you can create better APIs and faster. It has the ability to make various types of HTTP requests ( GET, POST PATCH) saving environments for later use, converting API to various code languages like JavaScript and Python. You can design your API directly on Postman using the API builder.
