E-commerce ( electronic commerce) is the buying and selling goods and services, and transfer of money and data, over an electronic network, primarily the internet. These business transactions occur either as business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to-consumer, or consumer-to-business.

Three main types of e-commerce:

-business to business, such as Shopify

- business to consumer, such as Amazon

- consumer to consumer, such as eBay
