Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer - Trading Strategies (Node.js) to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development of our clients' cutting-edge trading applications. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure server-side trading strategies and algorithmic trading systems using Node.js and the latest financial technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and develop robust, efficient, and maintainable server-side trading strategies and algorithmic trading applications using Node.js, Express, and other popular Node.js frameworks

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and financial domain experts, to translate business requirements into functional and scalable trading solutions

- Implement secure and scalable trading APIs, with a focus on extensibility, reliability, and low latency

- Ensure code quality, testability, and reliability through the use of unit tests, integration tests, and continuous integration/deployment

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other technical issues in trading systems

- Research and evaluate new technologies, libraries, and frameworks to improve the overall quality and efficiency of our Node.js-based trading applications

- Mentor and guide junior Node.js developers, sharing your expertise and best practices in the financial domain

- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment

- Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap for the agency's trading platform capabilities

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in server-side development, with a strong track record of delivering high-performance, scalable, and secure Node.js applications in the financial domain

- Proficient in Node.js, Express, and other popular Node.js frameworks and libraries (e.g., Koa, Fastify, Nest.js)

- Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, including ES6 and beyond, and a deep understanding of asynchronous programming patterns

- Expertise in designing and implementing low-latency, high-throughput trading APIs and strategies

- Hands-on experience with financial data feeds, market data processing, and order management systems

- Proficient in using Git, CI/CD tools, and deployment platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, both with technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related technical field

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in the context of trading systems

- Familiarity with message queuing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka) and event-driven architectures for trading applications

- Knowledge of server-side caching strategies and optimization techniques to improve trading system performance

- Understanding of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption in the financial domain

- Experience with real-time applications and WebSocket-based communication for trading platforms

- Familiarity with quantitative trading strategies and backtesting frameworks (e.g., Backtrader, QuantConnect)

- Contributions to open-source projects or personal technical blog/portfolio in the fintech space

- Certifications in relevant Node.js development technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Google Cloud Certified Professional) and financial domain (e.g., CFA, FRM)
